Pociatek Pohar 2001

The organiser's father-in-law passed away on 31st August 2001 and in memory of Ivan Pociatek, the tournament was renamed the Pociatek Pohar. The organiser put together 'Team Ivan Pociatek' (TIP) featuring members of his family and battled with passion to bring the prize home.

Twelve teams competed for a brand new cup with the history of the past tournaments going with the old cup. TIP, although battling hard, sadly, were unable to do enough in their first tournament together and it was back to the drawing board this time around.

Plenty of goals in this year's tournament, SEWS must have been over the moon to notch nine goals against CLBSO; winning 9 - 1, although they must have landed with a bump when the played Itelligence; losing 2 - 8.

Polnobanka, the previous competition's holders, decided not to return this year which must have pleased Apcon (now Itelligence) no end as last year's Runners-up went on to delight their followers and win the competition against old rivals ESSO Tigers. ESSO must surely be disappointed, as they had managed to get the better of Itelligence in the group games.
